Adam's Peak, known locally as Sri Pada, is one of the most sacred mountains in Asia — venerated by Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims and Christians alike. Pilgrims climb through the night to reach the summit shrine and witness a breathtaking sunrise, followed by the mountain's famous triangular shadow. The classic Ratnapura (Gilimale–Carney) trail is the steepest and most traditional route.

The sunrise brought me to tears. Tough climb but worth every step.
